According to the Agricultural Structure Survey totally 187,034 agricultural and forestry holdings were managed in Austria in 2007. Compared to 2005 their number had declined by 791 or 1.3%. Development of the agricultural sector 2008
In 2008, the factor income per agriculture and forestry worker decreased by -3.7% in real terms (nominally by -1.8%). Revenues from agriculture and forestry 2008
The per-farm revenues from agriculture and forestry amounted to € 26,483 on average in 2008, a plus of 1.0 % compared to 2007. Prices 2008

Subsidies and compensations for services 2008
In 2008 totally 2,213 million euro from EU funds, Federal and Provincial funds were used for agriculture and forestry, these are 8% or 167 million euro more than in 2007. Foreign trade 2008 in agricultural products and food
As in 2007, Austria’s foreign trade gained significantly in terms of value in 2008. Exports rose by 9.7% to € 7.96 billion, but as imports increased by another 10.3% to € 8.54 billion, this resulted in an agricultural trade deficit of € 578 million, by 96 million euro more than in 2007. > more + downloads about: Foreign trade 2008 in agricultural products and food
